Lesley Lopez is a Democratic Delegate representing Maryland’s 39th District in the House of Delegates. Member of local union 500 and of the Appropriations Committee, the Health and Government Operations Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee. She is also a member of the Women Legislators of Maryland and the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus.
As a member of the Illinois General Assembly, Collins has been a strong advocate for education reform, criminal justice reform, and economic development. As a member of local union HCII, she is part of our SEIU Women of Color Candidate Pipeline Program. She has also been a vocal supporter of gun control legislation and has been a leader in the fight to end gun violence in her district. In addition to her legislative work, Collins has been active in her community.
Rep.Dr.Caraveo’s story is one that speaks to the hearts of many Immigrant families.Venturing into the United States with intention to offer up skills, ambitions, and faith toward a more progressive life. After attending the University of Colorado, Rep.Dr. Carveo further pursued her passion to be the change she sought in the medical community for minorities. She ran for Colorado’s 8th Congressional District as its Hispanic population expounded and the community surpassed previous population thresholds. Rep.Dr. Caraveo arose as the first Hispanic Colorado-elected Latina to hold a seat in Congress who continues to advocate for the rights of medical personnel.
Brenda Moore, a former Paraprofessional, is also a retired member of SEIU local union 517M. Brenda Moore is a prominent figure in Saginaw County, Michigan. She is a lifelong resident of the area and has been involved in many aspects of the community.Moore has also been a leader in the effort to improve the quality of life in Saginaw County, including initiatives to reduce crime and improve public safety. Moore is also a member of the Saginaw County Democratic Party and has been a vocal supporter of the party’s efforts to promote progressive values and policies.
Maryland State Senate District 43 is represented by Senator Mary Washington. Also a member of local union 500, Senator Washington is a member of the Democratic Party. Serving on the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, the Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee, and the Joint Committee on Federal Relations. In addition to her legislative work, Senator Washington is a member of the Maryland Women’s Caucus and the Maryland Legislative Black Caucus.
Alethia McCaskill, member of local union 500, is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 44B in Baltimore City. Alethia McCaskill is passionate and committed to improving the lives of all Marylanders. She is a strong advocate for public education, criminal justice reform, economic development, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, environmental protection, and gun control.
